Hi, I’m Cameron,

I’m a UX Designer with a passion for making complex, data-driven products into intuitive and accessible experiences for all people.

About me

I am currently a Senior UX Designer working remotely with Protective Life on enterprise solutions for multiple web properties and marketing strategy initiatives.

In this role, I serve as designer and strategist for our main domain, as well multiple other subdomains under the Protective brand.

As part of this work, I perform user research, usability testing, prototype creation, design strategy, and accessibility review for all domains and strategy initiatives.

Outside of work, you would likely find me drumming, reading, or playing video games. I am also learning Italian and am probably just competent enough to get myself very lost while looking for the bathroom.

How I help teams succeed

Whether it is ideating and sketching new product ideas, researching and testing early concepts, or prototyping and presenting designs to team members and stakeholders, working in an Agile environment on enterprise scale systems has helped me develop the skills to help any team build excellent products.

Process

Although a design process is largely dependent on the context of the problem, this serves as a general guide by which I approach new projects. These steps can, and often are, repeated throughout the process. For example, I commonly will repeat steps 1 through 5 a few times until the early ideas are solid, and the designs are well understood.

1. Research: Problem frame and question to understand the space.

2. Create: Explore ideas through low-fidelity design artifacts.

3. Feedback: Share early ideas with stakeholders and team members.

4. Test: Speak to users to gather feedback on early ideas and concepts.

5. Evaluate: Assess how user expectations align with early concepts.

6. Prototype: Create high-fidelity design artifacts.

7. Communicate: Share prototypes with stakeholders and team members.

8. Reflect: Measure the outcome of the project against the overall process.
